Our SAT prep course offers:
- The Select Choice Online SAT Training Program is an affordable, live online SAT preparation program taught by Dan Roeder, an SAT instructor with more than 20 years of SAT-preparation experience and nearly 50 years of experience working with young people.
- The program brings much of Dan’s individual and small-group teaching approach to a larger online audience at a significantly lower price.

What Makes It Different:
Most inexpensive SAT programs provide recorded lessons and academic review. Select Choice focuses heavily on the skills that Dan has found cause students to miss many SAT questions: reading carefully, understanding what a question means, analytical problem solving, and critical thinking.
Students learn to:
- Slow down and read for understanding.
- Recognize SAT question types and apply specific processes.
- Think conceptually about mathematics rather than simply recalling classroom procedures.
- Synthesize reading passages into simple ideas.
- Use actual grammar rules instead of choosing what “sounds right.”

- During live sessions, Dan uses the questions students actually struggled with to teach not only the answer, but how to think through the problem and apply the same reasoning elsewhere.

- There are no cohorts and no fixed starting dates.
- Students can enroll at any time, begin the recorded curriculum from the beginning, and immediately join whatever practice-test cycle is currently underway.

Student & Parent Responsibility
The lower price requires more independence than individual tutoring.
Dan provides the instruction, curriculum, practice system, and live help. Students are responsible for doing the work and participating.
Parents can help by monitoring two simple things:
- Is the student completing the practice modules?
- Are the student’s scores generally trending upward?
The program does not include individual tutoring or individual progress monitoring.
